client linkedin newfeature service provider Feb 01, 2024

I'm excited about this new LinkedIn feature, it's a service providers' game-changer!

Game-changer! More visibility for the LinkedIn Services Page on your personal profile!  This is still rolling out to some LinkedIn Accounts, hopefully it's coming to yours really soon!

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, watch the short tutorial video above to learn some ways in how to maximise it's features!

LinkedIn is updating features at break neck speed and this one deserves a mention for Service Providers and Professionals wanting to connecting with their ideal clients!

If you've worked with me before, you might recall my encouragement to set up this page, but wondered why, now it's time to reap the benefits.

For those who haven't set up their Services page yet, watch the video tutorial above to learn how.

If you've already set up your page, kudos! Your reviews, once hidden, are now public, giving you a head start. When someone visits your profile, they can scroll down to find your Services page.

To update your Services page:

Upon entering the page, click the pencil icon to make edits. When you are uploading new "media" keep an eye on how they format in both desktop and mobile view as some links or thumbnails can look "awkward".

Only list services you currently provide to avoid any confusion for the viewer.

Contact for Pricing:

I recommend you use "Contact for pricing" option instead of displaying a specific rate. This leaves room for negotiation if needed.

Add Media Links:

As mentioned above, the media section is crucial; you can add up to eight media items, including links. I highly recommend linking back to your website for direct access.

Add Client Reviews:

The option to receive client reviews is invaluable. You can invite past clients to share their experiences, adding credibility to your profile. Click on "Edit page" and scroll down to "Invite past clients to review" to initiate this process.

Once completed, client reviews now show prominently on your Services page. You can even share them as posts on your profile by clicking the "share review" button.  LinkedIn assists with wording on this "share review" post, you might like to edit this and add your own flavour.

Bonus tip: A follow-up email to your potential reviewer ensures clarity and encourages prompt action. LinkedIn autogenerates a notification reminder if the review isn't completed as well.

Let me know if you have updated your Services Page and sharing your raving client reviews!
